Essay written on the topic of life is like a song

Ideal is very important, so Tolstoy said: "Ideal is the guiding light, no ideal, there is no firm direction, no direction there is no life", the Chinese ancients also said: "will not be established, the world can not be accomplished", "Will not stand, such as rudderless boat, no title of the horse" and so on.

But I think, focus on the "ideal" rather than focus on the "dream". Everyone should be full of hope for the future, full of expectations, but not too deep thinking about ideals, aspirations, the future of these issues. This is because the ideal is often born from love, love must be generated from hobby, and hobby from interest, interest from the life around us. On the other hand, from interest to hobby, then to love, then to the ideal, must go through a process, this process, is the contact with new things after familiarizing themselves with, to understand, to explore the process of it. Every child, from babbling to entering middle school or high school, will be constantly exposed to new things, and will be interested in some of them. Why would you be interested in this thing and not that thing? There is no need to ask why. Ducks are born to love water, swans are born to love the blue sky, and swans are bound to be different even if they grow up in a flock of ducks. Some children are born to be duck-type and some are swan-type; turnip and cabbage, each to his own, and such interests are innate. Therefore, there is no need to deliberately care about the ideal, with the continuous exposure to new things, interested in new things, as a hobby, until you begin to love it, your ideal will naturally sprout in your mind.

I think, for young people, the ideal is a dream, and to have an ideal means to be full of pursuit and desire for tomorrow, and full of longing and yearning for the future. A poet said, "Ideal is a stone, knocking out the fire of the stars; ideal is a fire, igniting the lamp of hope; ideal is a lamp, illuminating the road at night; ideal is the road, leading you to the dawn". I think, the "ideal" in the poem might as well be replaced by "dream", although the dream is not as great and sacred as the poem says, but it will indeed become the driving force for us to go through thick and thin and keep moving forward, just like a song sings: there is hope when there is a dream.

The developed countries of the world are far more economically advanced and socially developed than China, and their competitiveness is far greater than that of China, but the children are not too concerned about what they are going to do in the future. Why is this? Because the United States has always advocated free thinking, manifested in the children, that is, adults do not require much of the child, enjoyable learning, happy life, healthy growth, there are enough of these - at least before the age of 18 is this way; after the age of 18, the free development of the majority of people based on the interest of the choice of occupation, the consideration of their own happiness or comfort level, considering what they can do and what they are suited for, rather than simply how much money they can make doing what they do.

So it is true that ideals are important, but there are many things more important than ideals, not just "hard work", "opportunity", "wealth", "Happy", "health" and so on, the key is to face the changing society with a positive mindset, and try to cultivate their own interests, the love of things!
