Was there cancer in ancient times? Why is it cancer now?
The names recorded in the literature of past dynasties include abscess as big as tumor called carbuncle, swelling, abscess, malignant sore, tumor and so on. Chinese Journal of Medical History 200 1 published a textual research on this disease by Chen Qiming, who believed that cancer today is not a malignant tumor, but a deep abscess in headless gangrene.
In the Song Dynasty (1264), Yang Shiying, a Fujian native, wrote Ren Zhai Lun, which pointed directly to the appendix. It was considered as the first traditional medical document to describe the characteristics of cancer concisely: "Cancer patients are deep in the upper part, like caves", and pointed out that its "poisonous roots are deep" would eventually lead to coma. This is similar to the characteristics and clinical manifestations of cancer in modern medicine.
The ancient people's diet was pure natural and pollution-free, with fresh air and good water quality. Although their short life is related to evolution, their chances of getting cancer are very small. Modern people have disordered biological clocks and live in a toxic environment everywhere, and the chances of getting cancer are increasing.
