Will the new agriculture really replace the traditional family farmer economy in the future?

I won't. Developing various forms of moderate scale management is the basic direction to realize China's agricultural modernization. However, the large number and long-term existence of small farmers determines that we cannot abandon small farmers and deprive them of ways to expand the scale of agricultural production and operation and realize agricultural modernization. We should focus on the enjoyment of small farmers and promote the development of agricultural modernization through innovation. However, we should also realize that traditional small farmers are still weak in production capacity, market capacity, cooperation capacity and even policy capacity, and there are differences between them and modern agriculture in production characteristics, operation rules and mechanisms.

The weak production capacity of small farmers is directly reflected in the low labor endowment, low material and equipment capacity and low technological innovation promotion ability. However, the deeper "acquired weakness" of small farmers lies in the small and scattered scale of production and operation, which is far from the requirements of modern agricultural development of socialized large-scale production.

The market ability of small farmers is weak, mainly in the fields of warehousing, circulation, sales, technology, capital and so on related to all links of the industrial chain. Small farmers have almost no bargaining power, and they also lack the ability of early warning and coping with market fluctuations.

The weak cooperation ability of small farmers is mainly manifested in the high cost of collective action decision-making and low execution efficiency, and it is difficult to form a joint force to improve production capacity and market bargaining power.

The policy ability of small farmers is weak, which is influenced by both the government and farmers themselves. Limited by the weak ability of traditional small farmers to apply information and policies, small farmers often cannot benefit effectively because they don't understand and understand the existing policies.

Agricultural and rural modernization with the enjoyment of small farmers as the core is a systematic long-term project. In a pragmatic spirit, we should abandon the tendency of "pro-agriculture is far away from small farmers", innovate the agricultural management system based on family farmers, accelerate the construction of policy system to support the development of small farmers, serve small farmers, improve their level and guide them to the track of modern agriculture and rural development.
