What is the difference between bitmap and vector in PS?

Bitmaps and vector maps are different in concept, file type and color.

Conceptually: vector diagram is based on geometric features, and vectors can be points or lines. Vector diagram can only be generated by software, and the file occupies less internal space, because this kind of image file contains independent and separated images, which can be freely combined without restriction.

Bitmap images, also known as bitmap images or drawn images, are composed of individual points called pixels (picture elements). These dots can be arranged and dyed into different patterns. When you enlarge the bitmap, you can see that countless independent squares make up the whole image.

② The biggest difference is that vector graphics have nothing to do with resolution. It can be scaled to any size and printed on the output device at any resolution, which will not affect the clarity. Bitmaps generate one pixel at a time. When the image is enlarged, the pixels are also enlarged, but the color represented by each pixel is single, so the mosaic shape we usually see will appear after the bitmap is enlarged.

③ Bitmaps have many file types, such as *. bmp,*。 pcx,*。 gif,*。 jpg,*。 tif, photoshop *。 Psd and so on. There are many vector graphics formats, such as *. AI,*。 EPS and SVG of adobe illustrator *. Dwg and dxf of AutoCAD, and *. Cdr of Corel DRAW.
