May Day holiday
This year's "May Day" festival stipulates that all parts of the country can only have a three-day holiday, and Chongqing cannot make other arrangements. According to the Notice of the General Office of the State Council on Some Holiday Arrangements in 2009 (No.42 [2008] of the State Council), this year's "May Day" is a holiday from May/KLOC-0 to 3, with a total of 3 days. Among them, May 1 day (Friday, May 1 day International Labor Day) is a legal holiday, and May 2 (Saturday) and May 3 (Sunday) are public holidays as usual. Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued a notice requesting all localities to strictly implement the relevant provisions of national statutory holidays, and not to take vacations or make their own arrangements without authorization. At present, Guangdong Province has also cancelled the original holiday plan.
