How to promote and develop Wushu?

As a world-recognized martial arts country, China has long been a sacred martial arts country in the eyes of martial arts lovers all over the world. It has been more than 30 years since Bruce Lee introduced the word "Kung Fu" to the western world with his superb skills and self-improvement spirit. Now, foreigners have entered China Wushu School or quit their jobs to study Wushu in China, while China people are getting farther and farther away from traditional Wushu. As a martial arts enthusiast and practitioner, I have deep feelings. I feel sad to see taekwondo gymnasiums mushrooming in the streets and lanes, while traditional martial arts gymnasiums are becoming less and less. At the same time, I have accumulated some thoughts and experiences. Now I will talk about my own experience in combination with two years of Wushu promotion.

First, formulate a unified syllabus, technical specifications and grade examination content and strictly implement it. The biggest bad habit of China Wushu is that the master can teach whatever he wants, and the teaching is completely based on his own interests and students' situation, which is not standardized. In the end, what each student teaches is totally different and incomparable, which leads to the division of schools and even creates new kinds of boxing, which is why there are so many schools of martial arts in China, such as Muay Thai, Taekwondo and boxing. The whole country (even the whole world) or nation is a faction and a system. The only difference is the training method. The moves are all public, and there are no esoteric or heirloom things. What is confidential is the unique training method of each master, which is the training method that has created the champion. In fact, any martial arts is nothing more than "kicking, hitting, throwing and taking", and anyone is nothing more than two hands and two legs. There can be no different factions. Don't make yourself so mysterious, it will lead you to stand still and go to extinction.

Second, strengthen the etiquette, physical fitness, fighting and actual combat training in the course. 1, the success of Taekwondo owes a lot to its promotion of traditional etiquette in China, and what is the most distinctive part of Muay Thai? Teacher's dance before the game, of course. Compared with other martial arts, China has richer martial arts etiquette, such as boxing wrestling ceremony, bow bending ceremony and boxing touching ceremony. We should deepen etiquette in training, so that students can feel everywhere that learning Wushu is not for brave fighting, but an elegant and healthy modern sports. 2. Wushu can't ignore its fighting skill, otherwise it won't be "Wushu" but "dancing" skill. China Wushu is rich in routine movements, which is a very good resource, because routine movements themselves are good fighting techniques created by predecessors. In teaching, the masters can take apart the routine movements, cooperate with various scenes one by one, and teach self-defense until the students can fully skillfully use the movements, so as to teach the next movement. 3. Once actual combat is involved, physical training and fighting training should be added. Physical training can be arranged according to the actual situation of students. For example, people over the age of 60 can only do some simple actions such as falling their legs, those over the age of 40 and under the age of 60 can do some flexibility exercises, a little push-ups or jogging, and those between the ages of 20 and 35 should focus on physical training. Fighting is a compulsory part of China traditional martial arts, which is not included.

Third, the purity of Wushu. Many martial arts schools like to add some other martial arts content to the teaching content, which is actually very bad. For example, Jeet Kune Do teaches Wing Chun Quan, Taekwondo teaches nunchakus, judo teaches standing fighting and so on. It is good for students to master more knowledge, but don't forget that students sign up for a certain martial arts, not to pay for learning nunchaku and Jeet Kune Do in Taekwondo Hall. The corresponding coach should practice the corresponding boxing and dig out the deepest content of this boxing, instead of piecing together other martial arts. Although now is the era of mixed fighting, in fact, more martial arts lovers still want to learn some pure martial arts they like, not just to take part in competitions, knock others down or show off. Students who the coach thinks are right may not feel good, and what suits the coach may not suit the students. Everyone is very different. Personality teaching cannot be carried out according to everyone's needs. The best and easiest way is to teach yourself the purest things! Jeet Kune Do coach only teaches Jeet Kune Do, nunchakus coach only teaches nunchakus, and Wing Chun coach only teaches Wing Chun, so as to enhance professionalism! If you really want to teach something else, you can occasionally tell the students in class as a reward or let them practice, and explain what kind of martial arts it comes from, so that students will feel that the coach is very knowledgeable, and in the long run, it will deepen students' recognition of the coach.

Fourth, the coach's own cognitive problems. You are a Taekwondo coach. You should like Taekwondo from your heart and think that Taekwondo is the best and the best for you! Similarly, as a coach in Tai Ji Chuan, you should devote yourself to Tai Ji Chuan and show all the advantages of Tai Ji Chuan to the students! This is easier said than done. Many coaches will start to learn other martial arts after teaching for a period of time. This is normal and understandable, but please don't spread other martial arts ideas and your interest in other martial arts to your classroom, which will greatly affect students' interest and eventually lead to losses! A Jeet Kune Do instructor, if you always think Wing Chun is the best in your heart, your students will not think Jeet Kune Do is good. A taekwondo coach, if you only know Jeet Kune Do is the best, your students only know Jeet Kune Do is the best. The same is true of other Wushu, especially traditional Wushu. Now all kinds of boxing in the world are pouring into China. Fans and masters of traditional martial arts should first resist the temptation, and clearly understand that there are hundreds of martial arts in China, and any boxing in the world can find a shadow similar to traditional martial arts in China. It is better to study and teach a traditional Wushu suitable for modern people and students, which is the best choice for yourself.
