What is a car navigation system?

Vehicle navigation system integrates technologies in the fields of automobile, transportation, computer, communication and system science. Early navigation systems mainly used inertial navigation devices, such as gyroscopes and compasses, to locate the direction and dead reckoning of vehicles. Because of its limited use, it has not been widely used. With the development of microelectronics, computer technology, space technology and map drawing technology, vehicle navigation system has developed rapidly. At present, with the application of GpS positioning technology, vehicle positioning system can determine the accurate position of vehicles driving in every street and intersection.
