What kind of drama is Hebei Opera born from?

The Hebei Opera was born from the Shan-Shan Opera, which was introduced to Hebei during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.

After being transformed by the people of Hebei according to their own language and tone, living customs and cultural traditions, Hebei Opera was formed during the Daoguang period (1821-1850) of the Qing Dynasty, and entered a period of prosperity in the early years of the Guangxu period.

After more than fifty years, it began to decline in the late 1920s. By the end of the 1940s, it was on the verge of extinction. After the establishment of New China, Hebei opera was saved and entered a period of revival.
