Traditional hutongs have a more classical atmosphere, more Chinese flavor, more communication between people, and can promote the harmony of neighbors. High-rise buildings are a bit more modern, and the people who live in them rarely communicate with each other, they don't always know each other, and they seldom go out of their way to do so, while those in the hutongs often go out of their way to do so.
