Professor Peng Zhimin has been engaged in the teaching and research of composition and composition technology theory all the year round, especially the analysis and methodology research of western new music works in the 20th century. He has published nearly 100 professional academic papers and various music reviews, such as Introduction to Music Numerical Control Theory and On the First Perfect Number Phenomenon in Music Process. Independently and cooperatively published many professional works such as Basic Course of Music Analysis, Analysis of New Music Works, Concise Course of Formalism, Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky Symphony, Course of Traditional Music Theory in China (co-authored). He has created and published some distinctive exploratory music works, such as Impression of Mountain People, Landscape Series and Eight Mountains Reader. His mathematical characteristics and logical methods have entered the research field of international peers, and he is an influential young and middle-aged music theorist in China.
