What are the common misconceptions and logical fallacies?
Basic attribution bias: If someone else has a problem, then we will think that this person is not good; But if this problem happens to us, we will think that it is caused by the outside world and we are innocent. For example, if someone is late in a traffic jam, we will feel that this person has no sense of time, but he is late, and we are more inclined to blame the traffic jam. That is, the ancients said, "Be lenient with others and be strict with yourself."
Confirmation bias: People tend to look for evidence to strengthen existing beliefs. During the American presidential election, someone did an experiment: Obama supporters only read books or newspapers that are beneficial to Obama in bookstores, while opponents did the opposite.
Overconfidence bias: People tend to think that their abilities are above average. For example, if you interview people who have just learned to drive, they basically think that their driving level is better than most people.
Common logical fallacies
Unclear concept: common in chicken soup, for example, if you want to make money, you must first become excellent, and then list ten methods that even the author can't do. "Making money" ≦ "Excellence", you don't need Excellence to make money. Excellent but poor people can be seen everywhere. These two concepts are different.
Cause and effect: I ate an egg in the morning and had a stomachache at night. So can eggs cause stomachache? Obviously, not necessarily. Eggs are not necessarily the cause of stomachache, and they are not necessarily the only cause. Even if the "egg" is the fuse, it is not necessarily the most important reason.
Simple attribution: I can't find a job because my resume is not well written; I can't find a girlfriend because I'm not handsome enough; Men become bad when they have money, and women cheat when they have money ... Obviously, these ideas are wrong, and they just sum up the results into a single factor. For example, if it is intensified or derailed, the relationship between the two sides has reached freezing point.
