How to read an American high school history book

American values are not the same as China's, they choose historical figures and we are different, they focus on human nature and history's reform role. And we focus on political and economic contributions, very much influenced by Confucianism.

American modern Chinese history is probably more objective than China's own. Because they are bystanders and less politically inclined.
