Overview of Cold Bending: What is Cold Bending Steel?
Cold-formed steel refers to the finished steel products that are bent into various cross-sectional shapes by steel plates or strips at room temperature. Cold-formed steel is an economical light-weight thin-walled steel, also known as cold-formed steel or cold-formed steel. Cold-formed steel is the main material for manufacturing light steel structures. It has all kinds of ultra-thin, reasonable and complicated profiles that cannot be produced by hot rolling. Compared with hot rolled steel, under the same cross-sectional area, the radius of gyration can be increased by 50-60% and the moment of inertia can be increased by 0.5-3.0 times, thus making rational use of the strength of the material. Compared with ordinary steel structure (i.e. traditional steel structure made of I-beam, channel steel, angle steel and steel plate), it can save about 30-50% steel. The important feature of cold-formed section steel is that it is an economical section steel, which can produce all kinds of complex profiles. The strength of steel is improved mainly by changing the cross-sectional shape of steel.
