Detailed explanation of the sheng in wind instrumental music?
The sheng is a very ancient Chinese musical instrument.
The shape of the sheng is mainly composed of three parts: the sheng bucket (lagenaria), the sheng pipe and the sheng spring. There are two kinds of sheng bucket: square and round, on which the sheng pipe is inserted and the mouthpiece is passed through. The sheng tube is made of bamboo, and there is a sheng spring inside, which was made of bamboo in ancient times and is now made of copper. The player will blow air into the sheng bucket, through the sheng tube to make the sheng reed vibration and pronunciation.
The sound of the sheng is sweet and soft, with a small volume, little variation, and a bright color.
Example: "The Phoenix Spreads Its Wings".
