The folk stories of Laoshan Mountain, commonly known as Lagu, are oral literature collectively created by local people in Laoshan Mountain, Shandong Province for thousands of years, and there were almost no written records before liberation. On June 7th, 2008, Laoshan folk stories were approved by the State Council to be included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
The folk stories of Laoshan Mountain are characterized by the cross-integration of local popular culture and mountain and sea culture, and have evolved in the mutual infiltration of secular culture and religious culture, with distinctive regional characteristics. It has high historical value and literary value.
