What are the modes of container transportation?

Container is a modern and advanced mode of cargo transportation.

(1) packing method:

1. Full Container (FCL): The owner rents a container from a carrier or leasing company. After the empty containers are transported to the factory warehouse, under the supervision of the customs officers, the consignor loads the goods into the boxes, seals them, gives them to the carrier, and obtains the charge receipt at the station. Finally, the charge receipt is converted into a bill of lading or a waybill.

2.LCL (LCL) The carrier accepts the receipt consigned by the owner and sorts it according to the nature and destination of the goods, and concentrates the goods going to the same destination to a certain amount and assembles them into boxes.

1.FCL/FCL。 The carrier is responsible for the delivery of the whole container, and the cargo side is responsible for the packaging and unpacking of the goods.

2.LCL/LCL。 The carrier is responsible for packing and unpacking the goods.

Note: "Door" refers to the factory or warehouse of the consignor and the consignee. "Yard" refers to the container yard of the port. "Station" refers to the port of container freight station.

(4) Export procedures:

1. Book the venue.

2. Packing list: After the shipping company confirms the booking, it will issue the packing list and distribute it to the container yard and container freight station, so as to arrange the handling of empty containers and the delivery of freight.

3. Sending empty containers: The empty containers required for full container freight are sent by the shipping company or picked up by the consignor. Empty containers required for LCL freight are usually collected by freight stations.

4.LCL and packaging: After receiving the empty containers, the consignor will package them by himself and deliver them to the container stacking station on time. According to the packing list of the booking form, the container yard accepts and issues a written document for the charge of goods in the station, and then packs the goods in the station.

5. Full container packing: container freight station receives and consigns the goods according to the booking form, and issues the goods charge receipt in the station, which is sorted and packed in the station.

6. Container freight handover: The expense receipts issued in 4 and 5 above are the proof of delivery by the consignor and receipt by the shipping company.

7. Bill of Lading: The shipper exchanges the bill of lading with the shipping company on the basis of the fee receipt collected by the station, and then settles the foreign exchange with the bank. If the L/C stipulates that a shipping bill of lading is required, you should have the experience of exchanging goods after the container is loaded.

8. Shipment: The container yard shall carry out the shipment according to the stowage plan.

(5) Import procedures:

1. Freight documents: arrange the handling according to the relevant freight documents sent by the export port.

2. Distribute documents: Send the documents to the agent container freight station and the container yard respectively.

3. Arrival notice: Notify the consignee of the arrival time of the ship to facilitate the preparation of receiving goods, and issue the arrival notice after the ship arrives in Hong Kong.

4. Bill of Lading: The consignee exchanges the original bill of lading with the shipping company according to the arrival notice.

5. Bill of Lading: The shipping company issues the bill of lading after checking that the original bill of lading is correct.

6. Pick-up: The consignee goes to the container yard with the bill of lading and import license to handle the formalities of picking up the container or picking up the goods.

7. Full container delivery: The container yard will deliver the container to the consignee according to the bill of lading, and handle the equipment delivery formalities with the freight representative.

8.LCL delivery: container freight station delivers by bill of lading.
