How to Make Vermicelli (Easy to Learn, Great Taste)
Vermicelli is a very popular traditional snack, its production process is tedious, but the taste is very delicate, melt in your mouth. Below, I will share with you my own method of making vermicelli, which is very simple, doesn't require too many tools and materials, and has an excellent taste, so you can try it.
Materials:
1. 200 grams of sweet potato starch
2. 500 milliliters of hot water
3. Salt
4. Oil
Steps:
1.
2. Make the starch paste: pour the sweet potato starch into a large bowl, add the right amount of salt, and then slowly add the hot water, stirring as you do so, until all the starch is dissolved and becomes a homogeneous mass of starch paste.
3. Steam the starch paste: Pour the starch paste into a steamer and steam it over high heat for about 20 minutes until it becomes translucent.
4. Make the vermicelli: Pour the steamed starch paste into a saucepan and cook slowly over low heat, stirring constantly, until the starch paste becomes very thick and turns into a lumpy, sticky paste.
5. Pulling the vermicelli: Pour the cooked starch paste into a large pot, add an appropriate amount of oil, and then use chopsticks to stir continuously until the starch paste becomes very fine, without any granularity, at which time you can start pulling the vermicelli.
6. Pour the stirred starch paste into a saucepan and cook slowly over low heat, stirring constantly, until the starch paste becomes very sticky and turns into a heap of sticky paste. Then, use a flat spatula to scoop the starch paste onto a flat surface, press it down with another flat surface, and pull it in one direction to create a thin strip of vermicelli.
7. Cutting the vermicelli: Cut the pulled vermicelli into small pieces, and then put it into water to soak for a while, until the vermicelli becomes very soft, then it is ready to eat.
