Nunchaku in Okinawa's ancient martial arts

The Japanese Gu Wu nunchaku technique was originally used to weaken the opponent's attack and calm him down when facing the captors or many enemies. The characteristic of this move is also to start from defense. Before Okinawa, nunchakus were only seven and a half inches (about 22.5 cm) to ten inches (about 30 cm) long. Because they are small and easy to carry, they play a great role in self-defense against enemy attacks, so people carry them with them. Nuceau (ヌンチャク, which sounds like "Nuceau") is considered as a traditional weapon of Okinawa and exists in the ancient Wudao system of Ryukyu. The shape of nunchakus is roughly formed by connecting two short sticks with a rope or chain. There are many different shapes of short rods in terms of materials and cross-sectional shapes. The popularity of nunchakus today is attributed to the display of Bruce Lee in movies, and Bruce Lee movies can be said to be an important driving force for the wide spread of nunchakus.

At present, there are still "nunchakus" and "Dong's nunchakus" in Gu Wu's nunchakus.
