What does lace mean?

Lace is an exotic. Mesh organization, first hand-knitted by crochet. It was used by Europeans and Americans on women's clothing, especially evening and wedding dresses. It was also used extensively by European courts and aristocratic men in the 18th century on cuffs, lapels, and stocking rims.

Lace first appeared in the United States. The making of lace is a very complicated process, it is knitted with silk or yarn according to a certain pattern, unlike some traditional Chinese laces which are crocheted or embroidered.

The threads are spooled onto small bobbins, each the size of a thumb. Dozens or nearly a hundred of these bobbins are needed for a less complex pattern, and hundreds more for a larger one. The pattern is placed underneath the bobbin when it is made, and different knitting, knotting and winding techniques are used to make it according to the pattern.

EXTENDED INFORMATION

Lace is made of 100% polyester or half polyester and half cotton, so try not to put it in the washing machine. Top quality lace needs to be hand washed or taken to a professional dry cleaner.

Wash lace with a mild soap or a detergent designed to clean delicate textiles. Lay a towel in the sink before washing, and then fish the lace out with the towel after washing - this prevents the lace from accidentally pulling off.

Wrap the wet lace in a towel to absorb the moisture, then lay them flat on a table to dry naturally.
