How to ripen bananas in winter
1, smoke ripening method. This is the traditional method adopted before the 1980s. In a closed banana house or jar, a proper amount of sulfur-free sandalwood is lit, sealed for 24 hours, and then ventilated until cooked. When ripening in this way, the temperature is high and the humidity is low. In summer, the evergreen skin is ripe and dull, and the fruit loses a lot of weight, but the fragrance is good, which is suitable for ripening bananas.
2. Ethephon ripening method. This is a common ripening method in China. Soak or spray the fruit with ethephon solution, and put it in the ripening room to ripen. The concentration of ethephon should refer to ripening temperature, time and dosage. The concentration should be low at high temperature, slightly higher at fast ripening, and higher when fruit stalks or fruit stalks are coated. The concentration usually used for fruit soaking and spraying is 500- 1000 ppm. When the concentration is too high, banana fruit ripens quickly and is easy to be combed.
