More than 30 kinds of Tibetan medicine? Handmade? Walk into the birthplace of Tibetan incense and explore the story behind it.

This is the birthplace of Tibetan incense and Tibetan language. Here, it's Nimu in Tibet.

When traveling in Tibet, I was lucky enough to visit the making process of Nimu Tibetan incense. On the way back to Lhasa from Shigatse, it takes about two hours by car to reach Nimu County in Lhasa.

Nimu Tibetan incense is one of the most famous sources of Tibetan incense in Tibet, and it is also a national intangible cultural heritage.

The production of Tibetan incense in Nimu County has a long history of 1300 years, and it is favored by the masses for its non-harm to living things and unique raw material formula.

Nimu Tibetan incense, a pure natural and pollution-free Tibetan medicine unique to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is a national specialty with profound Tibetan culture on the snowy plateau.

Come with me to see how Nimu Tibetan incense is made.

On that day, local friends in Nimu County took us to Tibet Yu Xiang Tibetan incense Co., Ltd., which is also the research and development center of Nimu Tibetan incense and the Tibetan incense association of Nimu County.

In winter, Nimu Wan Li is clear and Wan Li is cloudless. Although the temperature shows MINUS 2 degrees, it is enough to wear a sweater at noon.

As soon as I entered the door, in the sunshine against the wall, several Tibetan workers were sorting out Tibetan incense by hand and chatting about the pleasant working atmosphere at home.

One of the sisters, leaning against the wall, is patiently folding black incense boxes.

In the sun, a Tibetan uncle is vigorously stirring the raw materials of Tibetan incense. This pile of khaki raw materials contains more than 30 kinds of Tibetan medicines, and the whole air is filled with Tibetan incense.

In the handicraft workshop, the freshly mixed raw materials were divided into several parts, and several Tibetan brothers turned their backs to the sun and quietly began to make Tibetan incense.

Chatting with a Tibetan incense master in a white hat. He has been making Tibetan incense for more than 20 years. It's a pity that he can't speak Chinese and communicate. I can only watch him quietly draw straight lines and incense, and time flies.

This neat arrangement, obsessive-compulsive disorder means too comfortable!

I asked the person in charge of Xiang Yu Tibetan incense company, and he said that these Tibetan incense masters can make about 50 bundles of Tibetan incense every day.

When it is full, the Tibetan incense master uses tools to cut off the extra parts, so that the Tibetan incense is the same length.

These nimu Tibetan incense will be taken to the drying room next door to dry. It is said that hand-made Tibetan incense should be put on the ground to dry in the shade, and machine-made Nimu Tibetan incense should be put on the shelf to dry in the shade.

Looking at these handmade nimu Tibetan incense in the sun, the cleanliness is slightly different. I always feel that handmade is the soul.

There are several boxes of nimu Tibetan incense neatly stacked in the corner. I like the color matching of this bag very much, which has strong Tibetan characteristics.

There is also an experience area of Nimu Zangxiang upstairs, where you can personally experience how to make it. It turned out that a small hole was opened at the bottom of a corner, from which Tibetan incense mud was squeezed out.

It looks easy, but it's too difficult to do it by yourself! How many years of hard work can squeeze into such a straight line.

I also visited the product exhibition area of Tibet Xiangyu Zangxiang Co., Ltd., which contained various packages of Nimu Zangxiang, Tibetan bags, Tibetan incense burners and so on.

Tibetan incense, thread incense, tower incense, bulk, gift box, etc. The products produced here meet the consumption needs of different groups. The cheapest bundle of Tibetan incense only costs more than ten yuan.

There are many Tibetan incense workshops in Nimu County, and the Tibetan incense industry is huge.

Due to the use of ancient techniques and a variety of pure natural Tibetan medicinal materials, it is extremely pure and fragrant, and it is increasingly loved by incense lovers outside Tibet.

In the small village of Nimu County, the sky is blue, the streams are gurgling, yaks are walking freely, and the air is filled with Tibetan incense.

Nimu Tibetan incense, the flavor of Tibet, has been fragrant for thousands of years.

When I arrived in Nimu, I had to mention one person, and that was Tunmi Sambuza. Without him, there would be no Nimu Tibetan incense, let alone Tibetan.

In the afternoon, I came to the former residence of Tommy Sambuza. There are many irregular stones on the wall at the door, on which are written large colored Tibetan.

Entering the former residence of Tumisanbuza, there is a small inner courtyard. Imagine the owner of the house, did you stand at the door, looking at the wall, looking at the sky, looking at the mountain, thinking about the ingredients of Nimu Zangxiang?

In the 7th century AD, Tunmi Sambuza was born in Tunba Town, Nimu County. He respected the will of "Ganbu" and worked hard to create Tibetan characters. It was praised as one of the "Seven Sages of Tubo" by later generations.

After his success, Tunmi Sambuza, who returned to his hometown, combined the Datang incense brought to Tibet by Princess * * with the fumigation therapy of Tibetan medicine, and invented the Nimu Tibetan incense of "Tibet Xiang Sheng".

The first floor of the former residence is dimly lit and consists of a stable, a utility room and a servant room.

As an old wooden staircase went up to the second floor, it suddenly became clear and there was a square sky.

On the wall in the corner, there are two colorful murals, and the colors are still bright.

There is a kitchen and dining room on the second floor. There is no smoke exhaust system here. The top and walls are smoked black, and the ground is made of mud.

One of the rooms on the second floor is where Tunmi Sambuza once lived.

With his back to the window, there is a statue of Tunmi Sambuza, covered with white Hada. On the table in front of him, there is the Tibetan language he invented.

Walking out of the former residence of Sambuza, which swallowed rice, brought me a lot of thoughts. The wheel of history rolled forward, a few years later. Some people are forgotten, others are remembered.

Sitting on a wooden bench by the river, a flock of sheep passed by the river, bleating.

This is my eighth trip to Tibet. Every time I come, I will make new discoveries and have a deeper understanding of this snowy plateau.

I know. I'll be back.

If you want to buy Nimu Tibetan incense, you can buy Nimu Tibetan incense at Nimu County Rural E-commerce Service Center. There are many varieties and prices to meet different needs.

There are other local specialties in Nimu County, such as handmade wool felt, Tibetan paper and Nimu wood carving. There is also a canteen in it, where you can also buy all kinds of travel supplies.

Regarding accommodation in Nimu, I recommend a Nimu Xumai Hot Spring Resort. Located in Angang Village, Xumai Township, Nimu County, Lhasa City, 26 kilometers away from the county seat.

Nimu Xumai Hot Spring Resort has a good environment, with its back to Qingshan and a large wetland opposite. Room rate 198 yuan/room, including free breakfast. If you live in a resort, you can also soak in hot springs for free.

Another good news is that local residents in Nimu County can enjoy free hot springs with their ID cards. Civil servants working in Nimu can also take hot springs and steam baths for free with their work permits.

The hot springs here are natural hot springs. In front of the resort, I happened to meet several locals taking hot water, which was steaming. The water in this hot spring can reach over 80 degrees.

In Nimu County, Lhasa, Tibet, in addition to the famous Nimu Tibetan incense, there are also hand-carved wood carvings in Songpu Township, Nimu County, and a Nimu Tibetan paper that inherits Tibet's thousand-year history. "Nimu Tibetan incense", "Silla Tibetan paper" and "Songpu sculpture" are called Nimu Three Musts.

Nimu in summer, because it is not far from Lhasa and has a beautiful natural environment, many people will go to "Karin" here, hoping to have a chance to visit Nimu again in another season.
