How do novices choose fishing rods

First, the material of fishing rod.

Most of the early fishing rods were made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, but the fishing rods made of glass fiber reinforced plastic were poor in elasticity, heavy and inconvenient to use. At present, few manufacturers produce FRP fishing rods. At present, most fishing rods are carbon rods. Carbon rods can be divided into low carbon and high carbon. The higher the carbon content, the lighter, harder and harder the rod is. But the price is also high, and you should know that the higher the carbon content, the more brittle the pole is, and it is easy to break if it is not used properly.

Carbon fiber material is the core material for processing fishing rods-carbon fiber cloth, which is divided into several grades, below 30T, 30-40t, 40-60t, 60-80t and so on. T (ton) is the index of carbon fiber. Some poles marked "HVF" refer to carbon fiber cloth with strength of 30T-40T and high modulus. SVF(VCF)T refers to 40——60T and TCF refers to 60——80T. The higher the t value, the higher the strength and elasticity of the material.

Taking 60T as an example, it means that the maximum tensile force per unit area of carbon fiber cloth with different carbon content is 60T, that is, the static tensile force of a square centimeter of carbon fiber cloth is not less than 60t. The higher the tonnage, the stronger the bearing capacity of the fishing rod made of carbon fiber cloth. The carbon content of fishing rod refers to the proportion of carbon fiber in the carbon fiber cloth used to make fishing rod, not the carbon content of the whole fishing rod. Simply put, it is the distribution density of carbon fiber.

Second, the basic parameters of fishing rod

(1) rod shrinkage length: generally divided into rod shrinkage length (generally, the rod shrinkage length of platform fishing rod is 1m ~ 1. 1m, and that of stream fishing rod is 50 ~ 80 cm);

(2) The number of sections (Ben) is four, generally 3.6 meters long, also called 12 feet, five sections (Ben) are 4.5 meters long, and six sections (Ben) are 5.4 meters long, also called 18 feet long. Generally speaking, these three lengths are the most commonly used.

(3) The first is the meta-diameter, which refers to the thickness of the rod tip and the meta-diameter refers to the thickness of the handle. The first diameter is generally below 1mm, and the first diameter (the thickest part) is related to the size of the handle. In short, the pole should be as thin as possible on the premise of ensuring firmness.

Generally speaking, fishing rods in Taiwan Province are divided into four types: soft fishing rods, medium hard fishing rods, hard fishing rods, super hard fishing rods and combat fishing rods, commonly known as "Five-Five", "Four-Six", "Three-Seven", "Two-Eight" and "Nine-Nine". Ultra-hard fishing rod is the most commonly used fishing rod in Taiwan Province.

How to choose?

We pull out the new rod, one person holds the rod tip, the other person holds the rod handle, and then lift the rod with a little force to check the position of the main bending point of the rod. If the length from the bending point to the tip of the pole is two-tenths of the total length of the pole, then the pole is super hard fishing, that is, two or eight poles, and so on.

Ultra-hard fishing rod has the advantages of fast reaction speed, high fish feeding rate, convenient feeding and easy fish control, and it will not be difficult to carry ashore because the rod is soft. But when fishing small fish, many fishermen like to use soft poles, which will also have a good feel and make fishing more comfortable.

centripetal force

Compare them with rods of the same weight. After the new pole is pulled out, hold the pole handle in hand, make a fish action upwards and lift the pole. When the flagpole is raised horizontally more than 60 degrees, feel whether the handle weight of the flagpole is in the middle of the flagpole or retract the palm. A pole whose weight returns to the palm of your hand is a good pole. On the contrary, when fishing, you will feel that the pole is getting heavier and heavier, which is commonly known as the heavy pole head.

Stress uniformity

Imitate the action of lifting fish and pole. One person holds the tip of the pole, and the other person lifts the pole hard to see if the radian of the pole is even. If there is an obvious folding point from the tip of the pole to the end of the pole, then the pole is problematic and easy to break.

Basic parameter

1, total length (length, that is, the unfolded length, in meters or feet).

2. Serial number (section, that is, the number of sections, in units of pieces).

3.c.length, that is, the length of the fishing rod after it is placed, in centimeters and centimeters.

4. Diameter (T.Dia, the diameter of the top of the first pole, in mm mm).

5. Diameter (B.Dia, the diameter of the top of the last handle part, in mm mm).

6. Weight (the weight of the pole, in grams).

7. Carbon content (carbon, expressed in percentage%, the higher the carbon content, the better).

Third, choose fishing rods according to your own needs.

Beginners must choose the right fishing rod. Don't think that the higher the price, the better. Many fishermen bought a high-carbon fishing rod when they first learned to fish, but it broke after several uses, which was mistaken for the quality of the rod. This view is actually one-sided. High carbon steel bar is hard, light and hard, but it is brittle and easy to break if it is not handled properly. Beginners have just started to learn fishing and haven't mastered the basic fishing skills. When you meet a slightly larger fish, you are basically pulling, and it is easy to break the rod.

Hand poles are generally divided into stream poles and platform fishing poles. The stream rod is very short after contraction, and the platform fishing rod is very long after contraction. If it is convenient to carry when going out fishing at ordinary times, and the fishing frequency is not much, it is recommended to choose a floating rod, which is about 50CM after shrinkage, and it is convenient to carry.

If you often go out fishing and catch a wide variety of fish, including big fish and small fish, in this case, it is recommended to choose the right fishing rod. Generally, fishing in large waters such as reservoirs should be equipped with at least 5.4 meters of hand poles. If you often fish in small waters such as wild ponds and rivers, a 3.6-meter 4.5-meter hand pole is enough.
