Is it not good to use carbon ink for a better pen? Should I use pure ink?
Second, all kinds of pen inks and their characteristics
Pen ink mainly includes pure blue ink, blue-black ink, black ink, red ink, carbon ink and drawing ink. The three commonly used pen inks are pure blue ink, blue-black ink and carbon ink. Because of its different components, its performance characteristics are also different.
The pigment of blue-black ink is synthesized by black precipitated pigment and blue dye as colorants, and its main components are tannic acid, gallic acid, ferrous salt (generally FeSO4 7H2O) and dye, so it is also called iron tannin ink. Tannic acid and ferrous salt (generally FeSO4 7H2O) generate ferrous tannic acid, and gallic acid and ferrous salt generate ferrous gallate, which is completely soluble in water. However, this ink has almost no color and looks like clear water. Iron tannic acid and iron gallate, which are light when writing, can gradually turn black after oxidation in air and are insoluble in water. The former is waterproof and the latter is light-resistant. Among them, when the iron content is high, the ink turns black, which has strong sun resistance and water resistance. However, if the iron content is too high, the stability of the ink will decrease, resulting in precipitation and dark color. In order to make the color of the first writing not too light, people usually add blue organic dyes to the ink. In this way, the words written in blue-black ink are blue at first, which is the color of blue dye; Slowly, colorless ferrous tannins and ferrous gallate are oxidized into black ferrous tannins and ferrous gallate, and the handwriting changes from blue to black, so it is called blue-black ink.
Blue-black ink is easy to be oxidized, and ferrous tannic acid will generate iron tannic acid precipitation at the bottom of the bottle through air oxidation. These tiny iron tannic acid precipitates will often block the waterway after being sucked into the pen, resulting in poor drainage, which will affect writing.
Pure blue ink belongs to dye ink and is made of organic dyes of various colors, including pure blue, red, green, black, purple and brown. The disadvantage of this kind of ink is that handwriting is easily infiltrated and diffused by water and alcohol; Poor acid resistance, alkali resistance and water resistance; The chromophore (double bond group) of dye is greatly influenced by light, and the associated molecules of chromophore are easy to depolymerize, which makes the handwriting fade. Its advantages are high water solubility, good fluidity and difficult precipitation. Therefore, pure blue ink has the process of easy cleaning and pen writing. But the disadvantage is also obvious, which is not conducive to the long-term preservation of writing materials.
Carbon ink, with black and white handwriting, strong fastness, never fading and long storage time, is incomparable to various dye-based inks and iron blue black tannic acid ink. The main pigment of carbon ink is carbon black (the chemical properties of carbon are not active at room temperature, and it is not easy to change in the sun or when it comes into contact with air and water), and sometimes some direct black dyes are added. Grinding high pigment carbon black to a certain fineness (5 ~ 15 micron), and adding proper amount of stabilizer, suspending agent, emulsifier, dispersant, etc. Carbon black can be stably dispersed and suspended in water for a long time, thus forming a colloidal mixture, which is carbon ink. Carbon particles are easy to block pens, and often lead to poor writing or no water, which is the inherent disadvantage of carbon ink itself.
Third, black dye ink.
This pen ink is rare. The coloring component of black dye-based ink is high-grade black organic dye, which has the conditions of high water solubility, bright color, and difficulty in decomposition when exposed to light or water. The dyes used are not limited. You can use monochrome or color matching. Color matching black ink is characterized by black color, smooth writing, smooth feel and good intermittent writing performance, but its fastness to water and light is average. Some have poor water resistance and some have poor sun resistance, but generally there will be no color separation when encountering water. Monochrome black ink is characterized by excellent water resistance and light fastness, but its color is not bright.
