Methods/steps

Acer notebook set up USB flash drive or CD startup steps:

One; The method of using shortcut hotkeys to start the boot menu and enter the USB flash drive or CD;

1, the macro shortcut key is F 12, some computers have enabled F 12, but some computers have not enabled the shortcut key F 12, so we should first open the shortcut key F 12 in the BIOS and enable it.

After booting to the logo screen, press F2 to enter the BIOS.

2. After entering the BIOS main interface, under the main item, find the F 12 startup menu, which means "F 12 startup menu" in Chinese, and its current setting is disabled. We need to open it, first move the cursor to this item, and then press Enter.

3. When the Enter key is pressed, a small window will pop up with two options, one is disabled and the other is enabled. We need to select the enabled item, and then press enter to confirm, so as to open the shortcut key F 12, and then press F 10 to save and exit.

4. After restarting the computer, when entering the logo screen, you can press the shortcut key F 12 to immediately enter the startup manager menu. There are four options for startup, namely 1 hard disk, 2 CDs, 3 network cards and 4 USB flash drives. If you want to start from the USB flash drive, you can use the up and down arrow keys to move the cursor to item 4, and then press Enter to start from the USB flash drive immediately.

Secondly, the BIOS is set to boot from USB flash drive or CD by traditional methods:

5. Turn on the computer, press F2, and directly enter the BIOS.

6. Select the boot option in the BIOS main interface. In the boot interface, there are seven options. Of course, because the BIOS version is different, the items displayed in it will be different. Here, the fourth USB HDD is a USB boot item, and the first CD/DVD: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20M-(PS) is a CD boot item. If you use a USB flash drive, first use the up and down arrow keys to move the cursor to the fourth USB hard disk, and then use F5/F6 keys to move it to the top first position. If you start with a CD, just move the CD to the first position. Here, the CD is already number one. Press Enter to confirm after setting.

7. Finally, of course, we need to save the settings. Enter the exit option in the BIOS main interface, and find the exit to save changes in the interface, which means "exit and save settings" in Chinese. Of course, we can also save in a faster way and press F 10 to exit.

8. To add another point, if you install the system with USB flash drive and PE, sometimes you may not find the hard disk. This is because some PE systems are old and incompatible with ACHI mode, so you can't identify the hard disk. Now most new PE systems support ACHI mode. So if you can't find the hard disk when installing the system, the SATA mode is generally wrong, and you have to enter the BIOS to modify it.

First enter the main item under BIOS, find SATA mode, and then enter.

9. Then a small window will pop up. Select IDE mode in this window and press enter to confirm, so that you can find the hard disk under the U disk PE. Finally, of course, it is saved according to F 10.

Matters needing attention

Due to the different names of the USB flash drive, the display items of the USB flash drive in the quick start menu may be different. Generally, U-disks have the word USB, so please choose flexibly.

Before setting the BIOS, check whether the USB flash drive is detected by the BIOS, so as not to find the reason when the BIOS setting is incorrect.
