Clay figurines are made of pure clay with low sand content and no impurities. After weathering, beating, filtering, dehydration and repeated beating of cotton wool, it becomes "cooked clay" with strong adhesion. Auxiliary materials include wood, bamboo and rattan, lead wire, paper and silk flower. Molded works should avoid direct sunlight or be placed around fire, and the correct air drying method should be natural air drying.

"Clay figurine" should be thoroughly dried, fired in a kiln at about 700℃ and polished before it can be colored. The color application of colored plastic sculptures has made great progress than in the past. The previous pigments were all water pink, which was poor in hiding, easy to burst, fall off and fade, and could not be preserved for a long time.

With the development of science and technology, although it is expensive now, it has many advantages, such as strong hiding power, no bursting, no falling off, no fading, insoluble in water after drying, and washable. It takes about 30 days for a complete work.
