Do you know how candle factories make beautiful carved candles?
The 642-year-old German carved candles sell for thousands of dollars each. Carved candles are known worldwide for their difficult production process, which no other country can imitate. So how are these candles made?
First, the carver prepares colorful hot wax and stirs the wax constantly to prevent it from solidifying together. Then a new type of wax core is put into the clear hot wax, then into the yellow hot spice, while the clear wax will be diluted by the yellow hot spice, and finally hardened in cold water. Then again the heart-shaped wax core is put into the various colors of hot wax. Carving is a process that needs to be repeated 35 times over, thus dipping the wax core in different colors of colored wax. As it continues to be dipped, the candle becomes softer and softer. During the dipping process, the carver will gouge a groove in the exterior of the candle and then proceed to place the candle in the hot wax.
Secondly, during this dipping process, the carver should always observe the temperature of the candle, if the temperature is too high it will cause the candle to be too soft and thus unable to carve, while if the temperature is too low it will cause the candle to break. Before the carving begins, the carver squeezes the bottom candle and cuts it with a knife. These cut off colorful candles will be made into mushroom candles. Now it's time to start carving the candles. The carving of the candles should be done within 15 minutes or else the candles will not be able to be carved once they have hardened. The carver cuts the candle below into leaves and rolls it up in one direction. The candle is then placed in water to cool down and prevent the finished leaf from warping.
Thirdly, the process used to make the first layer of leaves will then be used to make the remaining three layers of leaves, each of which will need to be rolled in the opposite direction from the previous layer. Until the last layer of blades is carved it will be glued on using the middle finger. The carver is now using a square chiseling tool to carve the top half of the candle in the shape of a pinwheel. Next the cut down candle is used to create the deck of the windmill ride. The carver will decorate the top half of the candle with tulips as well as other motifs. It must not appear to be anything during this process and it has to be done quickly, accurately and steadily. A single carving is put in place. It takes at least three to five years of training to have this kind of mastery.
Fourth, with a light swing of the straight-edged knife in his hand, the carver has carved a lifelike hummingbird and swan. Now he pressed a ring cutter around the perimeter of the top wick, so that the grooves would allow the hot wax from the lighted candle to drip down into the center, avoiding destroying the delicate pattern on the outside. Next, the bottom of the candle was placed in a hot pan, rotated to smooth it out, and while it was still hot, the logo label was attached to it. Finally, the candle is dipped inside the acrylic resin, which creates a barrier to protect the candle. When the candle is lit, the firelight will pass through the wax wick and emit a beautiful glow.
