The basic introduction of Nanxi Ancient Walled City

Nanxi Ancient Walled City, located in a deep mountain valley in the territory of Nanxi Village, Garden Lane Township, Dongzhi County, Anhui Province, 34 kilometers away from the county town, deep in the mountains living in more than 800 mysterious Xiongnu tribal clan descendants. Nanxi is an ancient village with a long history. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Jin's ancestor Jin Qiaogong moved from Huangdeng, Huizhou to develop and settle here to avoid the war of Huang Chao, and there have been 1,127 years and more than 60 generations of heirs. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties

period, the village has more than 1,000 households, more than 4,000 people, ninety-nine ancient wells, ninety-nine streets and lanes, all of which are paved with green stones, and all the houses are Huizhou-style architectural format, and some of the Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty residences, which have been preserved to this day. Ancient stone mills and grinders are still in use, sets of old family trees are intact, and many old people still have ancient habits. On December 17, 2012, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Finance decided to include the Nanxi Ancient Village in Huayuanli Township, Dongzhi County, Chizhou City, in the list of Chinese traditional villages (the first batch).

Nanxi Ancient Village in Garden Lane Township was honored as one of the fourth batch of historical and cultural towns and villages in Anhui Province. Recently, the People's Government of Anhui Province announced the fourth batch of historical and cultural towns and villages in Anhui Province, Anhui government secret [2010] 218, the garden Nanxi Ancient Village listed among them.
