Automobile body structure What parts does an automobile body consist of? Automobile body shell is usually divided into three parts, namely, front body, middle body and rear body and related parts.

(1) front body

Front bumper.

Front fender: Located on the lower side of the automobile hood and the upper part of the front wheel, it is an important body decoration, and its main components are generally stamped from thin steel plates.

Hood: Located in the front upper part of the vehicle, it is the maintenance cover of the engine compartment.

Dashboard: located in the front of the passenger compartment, separating the engine compartment from the passenger compartment.

Front longitudinal beam: it is the main stress component of the front car body and is directly welded to the lower part of the car body. Then weld the wheel cover (a part of the front wheel cover is integrated with the front longitudinal beam) and other parts.

(2) Intermediate level

Columns, windowsills and floors.

Roof: refers to the cover plate on the top of the car body, which may be equipped with a skylight, a ventilation window or an antenna. The roof is mainly composed of roof, roof lining and cross beam, and some models are also equipped with roof rack.

Car door: it is a passage for passengers to get on and off, and it is also equipped with door locks, glass, glass lifters and other ancillary facilities. The door frame is the main steel frame of the door, and hinges, glass, handles and other parts are installed on the door frame.

(3) Rear body

Luggage compartment and luggage compartment cover: the luggage compartment is a space for loading goods, which consists of luggage compartment components and body floor sheet metal parts.

Rear side plate: refers to the body sheet metal parts covering the rear wheel and rear body behind the rear door frame.

Rear bumper: refers to the rear of the car body, which plays a role in decorating and protecting the rear of the car.
