What is the difference between modern agriculture and traditional agriculture?

Traditional agriculture is dominated by self-sufficient natural economy, developed by manual labor methods such as manpower, animal power, hand tools and ironware, and relying on traditional experience accumulated from generation to generation.

Modern agriculture is developed on the basis of modern industry and modern science and technology. Developed agriculture sprouted in the period of capitalist industrialization and was formed only after the Second World War.

Traditional agriculture is a subsistence agriculture with limited agricultural products. Family members participate in productive labor and carry out internal division of labor. Agricultural production depends on the accumulation of experience, and the mode of production is relatively stable.

3. Different influencing factors

Traditional agriculture has low production level, little surplus and slow accumulation, and its output is greatly affected by natural environmental conditions. Traditional agriculture is characterized by intensive cultivation, simple agricultural sector structure, small production scale, backward management and production technology, poor ability to resist natural disasters, low efficiency of agricultural ecosystem, weak commodity economy and basically no regional division of production.

With the formation of modern machine system and the wide application of agricultural machinery, agriculture has changed from manual animal-drawn tools to machine production, and tractors, cultivators, combine harvesters, agricultural vehicles, agricultural aircraft and various machines in forestry, animal husbandry and fishery have become the main production tools of agriculture.
