In what way are plastic products seen in daily life made into various shapes?

There are seven main molding methods for plastic products:

Jet molding method

About 80% of plastic products in daily life are injection molded. Injection molding is produced by an aluminum mold or a steel mold injection molding machine. The mold consists of a core and a cavity. The injection molding machine heats the resin material until it melts, and injects the melted plastic material into the cavity of the mold by pressure. After cooling, the core and cavity are separated and the product is pushed out of the mold.

rotationalcasting

The mold for rotational molding is also composed of core and cavity, but the working principle is different. Rotational molding is to first add plastic raw materials into the mold, and then continuously rotate and heat the mold along two vertical axes, so that the plastic raw materials in the mold are gradually and evenly coated, melted and attached to the mold cavity for molding under the action of gravity and heat energy. Subsequently, the mold is taken out, cooled and shaped, and the product is taken out for the next round of production.

Extrusion blow molding

Extrusion blow molding is usually used to make thin-walled and inexpensive containers, such as disposable cups or water bottles. The production speed is extremely fast, and the mold making is simple, but it is not suitable for manufacturing complex or high-precision products.

Injection blow molding

Injection blow molding is a process of injecting molten resin into the mold cavity by air pressure, which is easy to control and can be repeated. It is usually used to produce transparent plastic beverage bottles with excellent surface effect, but it is not suitable for producing products with large wall thickness.

reaction injection moulding

Reaction injection molding is often used in automobile industry. Because the products produced by this molding method have the characteristics of light weight but hard surface, they can be made into body parts, instrument panels or other parts by painting. This molding method can only process thermosetting plastic raw materials. Thermosetting plastic raw materials react chemically in the mold and spread like foam, filling the whole mold cavity. After the chemical reaction, the plastic is solidified into a finished product.

Vacuum compound mold

If the investment in molds or materials is limited and only a few high-quality rapid prototyping products are needed, vacuum reshaping is a good choice.

hot press molding

Hot pressing forming is a kind of vacuum forming. Put the plastic plate or sheet on the die-casting mold, stretch and soften the plastic material on the surface of the mold by heating, and form it by vacuum pressure at the same time.

compression moulding

Molding is a process in which materials are preheated and put into the cavity of a die-casting mold, and then the plastic is cured by pressure and heat after the mold is closed. This molding method is suitable for producing plastic keys, washers, O-rings or other soft and easy-to-mold thin-walled products.
