Qiong Opera is a local drama of Yiyang Opera. Based on the zaju popular in Hainan in the Ming Dynasty (originated from Yiyang Opera), it absorbed Minnan Opera, Huizhou Opera, Kunqiang Opera, Chaozhou Andrew Opera, Bai Zixi (Chaozhou Opera), Guangdong Bangzi, etc., and also incorporated Hainan folk songs, songs and dances, puppet shows and Taoist music.
