What is the famous opera genre in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region: Gui Opera.

Gui opera is one of the main types of opera in Guangxi, one of the Han local opera in Guangxi . Commonly known as Gui Opera or Guiban Opera, it is a type of opera sung in the Guilin dialect, with delicate and apt workmanship, vividness and liveliness, with the help of facial expressions and body gestures to convey feelings, and focusing on shaping the characters with delicate and life-affirming performance techniques. Even if it is a martial arts play, it is mostly a literary work. Popular in Guilin, Liuzhou, Hechi, Nanning and other cities and Wuzhou northern region of the "official language" of the urban and rural areas, loved by the people of Guilin.

Guizhou Opera was introduced to Guilin during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, after a period of linguistic changes, it gradually evolved into Guizhou Opera. The history of its existence is about two hundred years. In the 1930s and 1940s, it became one of China's top ten opera genres because of the famous dramatist Ouyang Yuqian's creation, adaptation and new adaptation of Gui Operas such as "Liang Hongyu", "Playing the Golden Bough" and "Broken Bridge".

The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage, and on May 20, 2006, Gui Opera was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
