Album "Butterfly Dance"
Album Description
This recording proves that the yangqin is really well-suited for playing contemporary works, and its versatility is also surprising. The album is even more experimental, breaking away from the classical and ornate style that the yangqin is confined to the traditional music it is accustomed to. In this album, you can see the words written by Huang Ya-shi herself, with the tracks going on, the meaning between the lines seems to flow slowly with the notes, not only seeing the whispered murmur slipping out from between Huang Ya-shi's fingers.
When it comes to the idea of this yangqin album, "Dancing Butterflies", the most special thing is that the whole album is a modern composition for yangqin, because we want to break through the stereotype of the yangqin, and let everyone know that the yangqin, besides being the accompaniment, is in fact the main musical instrument, and that this way has been passed down for a long time in foreign countries. And this way of doing things has been around for a long time in foreign countries. Most of the yangqin albums that appeared on the market in the past emphasized the long history of the yangqin and played mostly ancient masterpieces, but this time, we tried to introduce the yangqin to a wider audience by composing 12 pieces by the talented Lin Hai in anticipation of a musical presentation of modern compositional compositions that would be more relevant to the modern people. "We have taken an experimental approach to break the yangqin's confinement to the techniques and scales customary to traditional music, as well as retaining the classical and ornate style that characterizes the Chinese yangqin. In recent years, the sound of the yangqin has been heard in many movie soundtracks and pop music, and many composers no longer stereotypically position the yangqin as an accompanying instrument. I believe that this album, which combines different styles of music and is tailor-made for the yangqin, will give us all a refreshing feeling, and I look forward to more people getting to know the yangqin, and for this instrument to be widely used in all types of music. "
Lin Hai, the producer of the album, who was also shortlisted for the Golden Melody Award for Best Pop Performance, said that she began planning the album because she felt that Huang Yashi's modernity was a good fit for expressing a non-traditional flavor for the yangqin, which is something she has always wanted to do for the national music. Lin Hai and Grace Huang coincidentally said, "The sustaining characteristics of the yangqin instrument itself caused limitations in composing." But these were finally overcome technically after some R&D discussions and experiments. Dancing Butterflies" is very experimental, with a desire to experiment with a variety of genres, so there are more styles and the album's direction has become more modern. For example, in the song "Summer Game", we tried the now popular BOSSANOVA, and it feels very good; "Sevenbeats" especially presents a light and lively style; the Scottish style of the song "Chasing" fully expresses the characteristics of the yangqin international instrument; the song "DancingButterflies Butterfly Dance", it makes people feel the tune itself. The song "DancingButterflies Butterfly Dance", on the other hand, makes people feel the life of the tune itself, and those who have heard it are more likely to appreciate it; the last song "Crossover Dialogue", the whole song is a reprise of five yangqin, which lets people hear the original yangqin timbre; the song "Random Left and Right" is also quite special, and the song style with no beat point at all lets people feel that it is constantly and incessantly moving forward.

Album "Walking on Strings"
Album Description
The talented yangqin girl Huang Ya-shi, who wowed the world with her "Butterfly Dance" album in 2001, not only changed the stereotypical image of the yangqin by modernizing her music, but also led a trend of new Chinese music, which was successfully introduced to the Japanese market, and the two tunes in the album, "Seven Beats" and "The Chase," were adapted and performed by the Twelve Women's Music Ensemble.
This time, Huang Yashi has devoted herself to composing nine songs with her memories of more than a thousand days living in Japan. Produced by heavyweight musician Fan Zongpei, the album also includes the theme song of the famous Japanese movie "The Summer of Kikujiro" of the same name as well as the Okinawan folk ballad "Fungus Flower," a popular song in Taiwan, so that we can share our happiness with each other as we walk along the strings in the romantic spring.
Me and my yangqin on the strings
This is an album of sharing, hoping to leave behind memories of my moods at the end of my adventurous twenties and a reminder of the 1,000-odd days I spent living in Japan.
I, like the 9 and 19 year old me, still have many aspirations and favorite things like my music, laptop, and cat.
People live to play many different roles at once. We go from being a child of our parents, to being a parent of our children; from meeting many strangers, to finding a life partner; from this job, to that position; from being a receiver, to being a giver; from being taken care of, to taking care of others. In different parts and processes of life, our existence has special significance to many people, and no matter what role we play, whether we like it or not, we can't escape or hide from it, but must go through it and experience it.
While the reality is not always as ideal as we expect, and many things can not be decorated to perfection, but that is also another real and original beauty.
Share this album with everyone who loves life and music, we are not alone in our adventures and wanderings in this world!
