What are the characteristics of the cloud data center?

Standardization, high density, modularization and centralized management are the four characteristics of data center infrastructure in the cloud era.

1. standardization. The new generation data center must adopt various standardized components to meet various international standards. Only in this way can we ensure rapid deployment. For example, the container data center that appeared in recent years can be built quickly in just a few weeks.

2. High density. Cloud computing is a centralized deployment mode. In order to support high load in limited space, high-density equipment such as blade server is an inevitable choice.

3. Modularization. In order to meet the dynamic demand, the data center must have certain scalability. At the same time, in order to save investment, it is best to invest while growing, and modularization is the best choice. In addition, modularity can improve reliability and save electricity.

4. Centralized management. Traditional data center IT equipment and infrastructure are managed by different people. Usually, IT equipment is managed by IT department, while infrastructure department is responsible for it. This division of labor does not meet the current needs. Taking the migration of virtual machines in different cabinets as an example, traditional IT management tools usually only care about whether there are suitable IT resources in the cabinets. In fact, if the cooling capacity in a cabinet is not enough, even if it has redundant computing power, it is not suitable for adding new loads.
