The spatial structure of regional tourism contains complex contents. On the basis of summarizing the research at home and abroad, this paper first introduces the concept of regional tourism, starts with the identification and analysis of tourism spatial elements, and accepts Pierce Douglas's point of view. It is considered that the five spatial influencing factors of regional tourism supply are scenic spots, transportation, accommodation, supporting facilities and infrastructure. This paper expounds the spatial structure of tourism and its research progress from the perspectives of tourism planning, basic distance and tourism location. It is pointed out that due to the lack of paradigm guidance, the research system of regional tourism planning at home and abroad is relatively loose, and researchers are mostly led by practical problems or trends. It shows great dependence on cities as spatial economic entities. At the same time, it is pointed out that the macro location factor and accessibility of tourist destinations are the main factors to measure the development potential of tourist destinations. The spatial structure of Xi tourism destination is explained by TDD theory.
