History of Tangshan Engine Section

As the engine section which grows up with Tangxu Railway, it has experienced the great changes before and after the establishment of New China, and the major historical events such as anti-U.S.A.-North Korea, Vietnam, earthquake relief, etc., and it has made brilliant achievements with the spirit of continuous self-improvement and willingness to dedicate itself to the cause. In the 1970s and 1980s, the company became a red flag on the national transportation front, and was highly evaluated and praised by Premier Zhou Enlai and leaders of the Central Government. In the era of steam locomotives, the company had led the style of first-class locomotive quality, constructed the "six excellent" and "four excellent" in locomotive frame repair, "one heart, two no's and three satisfactions" in locomotive maintenance and "one clean, two light and three satisfied" in locomotive maintenance. The quality maintenance standard of "one clean, two light, three no, four leakage, five elimination" has won the honorary title of "National Quality Gold Medal".

After the relocation of the section site, the company focused on the implementation of the development strategy of "high-grade corporate culture, high-quality workforce, and high-efficiency operation mechanism", gathering cohesion internally and shaping the image externally, and comprehensively launched the construction of corporate culture, with particular emphasis on the construction of the safety culture, refining the essence of safety from the heritage of the centuries-old history, and cultivating a safe viewpoint from the daily safety management, combining the traditional and modern safety concepts, and integrating the traditional and modern safety concepts. It has extracted the essence of safety from its century-old heritage, cultivated the safety point of view from daily safety management, organically integrated the traditional and modern safety awareness, and formed the brand-new safety value of "Safe production is the highest behavioral norm and moral guideline". At present, the number of locomotives that have traveled more than one million kilometers safely in the whole section reaches 153, accounting for 71.8% of the total number of locomotives in use. The DF4 6047 locomotive safety traveled more than 7 million kilometers, ranking third in the whole road.
