When is Zhonghe Festival?
Zhonghe Festival is the second day of the second lunar month every year, which is the first day of the first month. Men all have their hair cut on this day, so there is a folk saying that dragons look up. Zhonghe Festival, also known as Spring Dragon Festival and Qinglong Festival, falls on May 23rd, 20 1 1. Approved by the State Council, Zhonghe Festival is listed in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list, which is a traditional folk festival in China.
Zhonghe Festival originated from the sacrificial activities in primitive society and was formally formed in the Tang Dynasty. The Zhonghe Festival means "taking China as the heart and harmony as the purpose", which is the source, essence and soul of China traditional culture and an important embodiment of the humanistic spirit of the Chinese nation.
Zhonghe Festival originated in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty. Liao countries in the Five Dynasties also retained the custom of Zhonghe Festival, but paid more attention to its political utility and practicality.
