How do we understand the concept of "building a harmonious world"?

Specifically, the concept of a harmonious world has four meanings:

First, reflection on history. The idea of a harmonious world was put forward on the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, which is a profound reflection on the disaster of the human war and the evolution of international relations in the post-war period. The establishment of the United Nations reflects the desire of the world's people for peace and development, and it bears the heavy burden of peacefully settling disputes and maintaining regional and global security. The proposal of a harmonious world from the United Nations rostrum is a global vision of the development goals of the international community and is in line with the theme of the times.

Second, a response to reality. Since the end of the Cold War, peaceful coexistence, amicable treatment and harmonious ****existence have become the ****same ideal of all peoples and the trend of the times. On the other hand, the world is far from harmonious. Deep-rooted contradictions in the development of globalization continue to emerge; the international political and economic order is still marked by injustice and irrationality; global and transnational problems are emerging in an endless stream, and non-traditional threats to security have become more prominent; the imbalance in development has worsened, and the gap between the North and the South has widened; and the clash of cultures and civilizations has continued, triggering new upheavals. A harmonious world is a response to the universal aspirations of the peoples of the world.

Third, the inheritance of tradition. Harmonious world is a combination of traditional Chinese thought and modern governing philosophy, and the core values of traditional culture of peace-loving, faith and harmony, kindness and good-neighborliness, and the pursuit of harmony, reflecting China's pursuit of the "unity of heaven and mankind", which is the harmony between human beings and nature, and between human beings and society, as well as the ultimate care for the spirit of mankind. Chinese culture, with its unique openness, inclusiveness and durability, will provide ideological support for the construction of a harmonious world.

Fourth, the new development of diplomatic theory. The idea of a harmonious world is a development and sublimation of the foreign policy of peace on the basis of the five principles of peace***sit. It incorporates the new outlook on a just and rational order, which has been actively advocated by Chinese diplomacy in recent years; the new outlook on development with equality and mutual benefit at its core; the new outlook on security with mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and collaboration as its main elements; and the new outlook on civilization characterized by respect for diversity. As a large country with a 5,000-year history of civilization and a large population, the proposal of a harmonious world is a positive declaration and commitment by China, as a responsible big country, in maintaining world peace and development.
