What are the main classifications of advertising?

Categorization by the physical nature of the medium in which the advertisement is placed is one of the more commonly used methods of classifying advertisements. Using different media, advertising has different characteristics. In practice, the choice of which medium as an advertising vehicle is a core element to be considered in the development of advertising media strategy. The traditional media classification is the nature of communication, communication mode closer to the advertising media into one category. Therefore, there are generally the following seven types of advertising

① print media advertising: also known as print media advertising, that is, published in newspapers, magazines, posters, posters, leaflets, packaging and other media advertising;

⑦ Other media advertising: the use of press conferences, sports activities, calendars, various recreational activities and other forms of advertising.

The above methods of dividing advertisements according to media are more traditional. Today's integrated marketing era, is the integrated marketing communication point of view, for the target audience's activities in the region and the scope of advertising is divided into: home media advertising such as newspapers, television, magazines, direct mail and other forms of media advertising; on the way to the media advertising such as road signs, traffic, neon lights and other forms of media advertising; purchase location media advertising and so on.
