1953165438+1From October 8 to 12, the state held a national sports performance and competition conference in Tianjin. Thirty years later, on 1984, the State Sports Commission and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission designated this Games as the first national traditional sports meeting for ethnic minorities.

Since then, this event, which focuses on traditional sports of ethnic minorities, has been held every four years. 395 athletes from Manchu, Mongolian, Hui, Tibetan, Miao, Naxi and Han nationalities participated in the national sports performances and competitions. They come from nine units including North China, Northeast China, Northwest China, Central South China, Southwest China (including Tibet), Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, People's Liberation Army and Railway System.
