Classification of Zhuang Opera

The Zhuang opera, also known as the Zhuang drama, is a stage performing art formed on the basis of the rich and colorful folk literature, music, dance and juggling skills of the Zhuang people, which has a history of hundreds of years and is mainly popular in the Zuojiang and the Right River Basin. According to the different styles of performance, it can be divided into three types: South Road Zhuang Opera, North Road Zhuang Opera and Zhuang Master Opera (i.e. Zhuang Master Opera, also known as Zhuang Master Drama); and according to the different dialects and dialects of popular areas, music and singing, and different types of plays, it can be divided into seven kinds of plays: namely, Dejing Puppet Opera, which is popular in Jingsi and Debaosi; Maai Zhuang Opera, which is popular in Jingsi, Debaosi, and Naipo; Tianlin Zhuang Opera, which is popular in the western part of Guihai, such as Tianlin, Lingyun, Leye, Baise and etc.; Tianlin Zhuang Opera, which is popular in the western part of Gui, and Tianlin Zhuang Opera, which is popular in the western part of Gui. Tianlin Zhuang Opera; Longlin Zhuang Opera spread in Longlin; Funing Zhuang Opera (i.e. Funing Zhuang Opera, also known as Funing Tu Opera) and Guangnan Zhuang Opera spread in Funing County of Wenshan, Yunnan Province; and Shihgong Opera (i.e. Zhuang Teacher's Opera) spread in Wuming, Hechi, Yishan, Yongning, Laibin, and Guixian, and other places. It is popular in the Guangnan area of Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, where the Sha Clan, a branch of the Zhuang Clan, live. Originally known as "Sha Opera", it was developed from Sha songs and dances influenced by Han Chinese opera. The main singing style is called "Zhengtong", and the female characters start singing with the words "Quick Brother Come" (meaning "Brother Come Quickly"), while the male characters start singing with the words "Nong Ali" (meaning "Where is Sister?"). "Where is the sister"), obviously with the flavor of Zhuang love songs. The tunes are relatively free, and can be changed and played according to the emotional needs of the characters in the play. In addition, there are sad tunes (similar to the "leather reed" crying head, rolling board), ditties and so on. Accompanying instruments include the huqin (longer and thinner than the jinghu, with a barrel made of cow horn), erhu, sanxian, yueqin, and so on. The percussion instruments include bamboo drums, drums, point gongs, gongs, cymbals and horns. The repertoire includes "Nong Zhigao" based on the historical legends of the Zhuang people, "The Blind Man Haunts the Shop", "Li Yuanqing Pounds the Pestle", "Xue Pinggui", "The Golden Veil", and "The Ten Thousand Years Tree" and "The Twisting Ditch", which are newly created modern dramas.
