After that, he studied painting at Tokyo Art School in Japan and served as a consultant and professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He, together with, and are called the second generation of four masters of Lingnan School of Painting.
Although he learned from high school, he was not greatly affected. When I went to study in Japan, I was exposed to "hazy painting". After returning to China, I combined traditional painting with Japanese painting, so that the brushwork and rendering effect in his works described the distance and air layer of the scene in a unique way. This painting method has also become a new development direction of Lingnan painting school, but he did not move in this direction, but used a more vigorous and powerful brushwork to write his own pen and ink language.
Having said that, many people want to ask, what is Lingnan School of Painting? Lingnan School of Painting was formed in the early 20th century, and it is the most influential school after Shanghai School. Under the impact of western art, this painting school gradually merged into the innovation of traditional art in China, and then formed today's painting characteristics. Lingnan school of painting was founded by the masters of painting school Gao, Li, Chen, also known as "two high schools and one Chen". Lingnan painting school advocates innovation, attaches great importance to sketch, and combines the advantages of Chinese and western painting arts. It not only retains the pen and ink characteristics of traditional Chinese painting, but also combines the continuous innovation of western art to draw many modern paintings with bright colors, bold pen and ink, and soft smudge. In terms of techniques, we changed the previous way of sketching, adopted the "boneless method" to create, and borrowed the way of "water collision powder" for the sake of reality.
Li Xiongcai's snow scenes exhibited this time are very close to life, absorbing techniques such as perspective, light and shadow in western painting, with compact overall composition and elegant style. The picture pays great attention to the rendering of the overall atmosphere and level of the snowy day, and depicts the beautiful scenery under the snowy scene with realistic brushstrokes.
Li Xiongcai's landscape painting is mainly based on sketching. The mountains and rivers depicted in his works are vast and dense, and he has a strong interest in "writing", which is impressive. Years of hard work have made his "Li Jia Landscape Painting".
This picture of the Pearl River is a masterpiece of Li Xiongcai's sketches in his later years. This exhibition only saw the seven-meter-long "Loushanguan" part. This "Pearl River Picture" is more than 60 meters long. Many scholars in the industry believe that this work is also Li Xiongcai's final answer to his road of sketching.
Many of Li Xiongcai's classic works are giant landscape paintings by Zhang Er and Zhang Ba, which contain refreshing styles, and this unique charm is also unique to "Li Family Landscape". When painting, Li Xiongcai advocated that "whether it is heavy color or light color, ink should be the main color". Therefore, Jiao Mo mobilized the unique artistic conception created by thick ink or light ink in his creation, which was in contrast with several blank spaces in his vision, and produced a strong contrast effect between light and dark.
Li Xiongcai painted countless paintings in his life, sketching the vast rivers and mountains in the southwest and northwest of China, which made an important contribution to the traditional art of China.
The works on display are all what Li Xiongcai saw and heard when he sketched, including many figures, waterfalls, bushes and trees. It can be called "Travel Sketch Diary". These works also fully express the ethereal and elegant state of his early works and the dignified and chic meaning of his later works.
Li Xiongcai not only teaches painting, but also teaches painting. In teaching, he emphasized "learning from nature" and advocated looking for inspiration in natural life, refining themes and creating his own paintings in line with the characteristics of the times.
