Seeking the thinking guide of English learning in the fourth grade of primary school

Mind mapping is an effective graphic thinking tool to express radioactive thinking. This paper briefly introduces the mind map. This paper focuses on the new English textbook for the fourth grade of primary school, taking the teaching of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar in basic English knowledge as an example, and enumerates the application of mind mapping in English teaching, aiming at providing reference for the application of mind mapping in primary school English teaching.

1. The definition, making and type of mind map is the natural expression of radioactive thinking put forward by British psychologist tony bazan in 1960s. Mind mapping uses graphics and words, and uses hierarchical diagrams that are subordinate and interrelated to express the relationship between different levels of topics, and establishes memory links between topic keywords, images and colors.

Mind mapping makes full use of the laws of memory, reading and thinking, helps people to develop in a balanced way between science and art, logic and imagination, and then stimulates the infinite potential of the human brain. The production of mind map should make clear the teaching objectives, understand the characteristics of students and the characteristics of design content, and finally design mind map reasonably according to the actual situation. The elements of mind map are color, line, figure, association and imagination. There are many different combinations according to actual needs and personal characteristics. Such as radiation map, grade map and so on.

Second, the application of mind map in teaching In the process of primary school students learning English, language knowledge is the basis of learning English, including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, functions and topics. In class, we should not only use various teaching methods and means to cultivate students' English ability, but also help students learn English by making corresponding mind maps.

Teachers should make full use of mind maps, build a network knowledge system, further stimulate students' interest, strengthen the guidance of students' learning methods and improve the effectiveness of English teaching. Next, I will make a simple classification and inductive analysis of the mind map I used in the new fourth-grade English course of People's Education Edition.
