Briefly describe several commonly used interest scales.
Strang developed the world's first interest questionnaire in 1927. The questionnaire was later revised by Campbell to enable the results measured by the questionnaire to be interpreted at three levels. These three levels are: the Hollander's General Occupational Theme (GOT), the Mutually Heterogeneous Homogeneity Scale (BIS), and the Occupational Scale.
(2)Kuder Occupational Interest Inventory (KOIS)
Kuder published the inventory in 1934.The 1985 revision of the KOIS included 100 forced-choice item sets consisting of three items and directly compared individual scores with test scores from standard occupational or college major groups to determine the occupations or majors of interest to the subjects.
(3) Self-Direction Questionnaire (SDS)
This questionnaire was developed by Hollander in 1970 and revised in 1985. According to Hollander, interest is the expression of individual personality, and the individual's choice of occupation is governed by factors such as motivation, knowledge, hobbies and self-knowledge, but the most important influencing factors are interest and personality. The questionnaire consists of two parts: one is the Occupation Type Test and the other is the Occupation Search Form. The basic idea is to determine one's interest characteristics and then to find a suitable occupation based on one's personality traits. Hollander divides personality into six types: realistic, research, artistic, social, entrepreneurial and traditional, and the characteristics needed for a career are closely related to this dimension. Hollander used the three dimensions to characterize an individual's interests or personality traits, which can be used to find your favorite type of career in the career search.
