How to raise chickens
Although the chickens raised in the fermentation bed and the traditional padding should be laid on the ground of the henhouse, the biochemical changes of the padding and the role played by the padding are essentially different. Generally, when raising chickens, the padding is thin, and the biochemical reaction of chicken manure in the padding is mainly a corruption process, without fermentation, which has little effect on the decomposition of chicken manure. The padding mainly absorbs the moisture and odor of chicken manure, and does not generate obvious heat. The padding is wet and the smell in the chicken house is heavy. On the contrary, the padding for raising chickens in the fermentation bed is thick, which requires about 40 cm, and special fermentation strains are added. The padding has a special fermentation function, and chicken manure can be completely decomposed by fermentation. There is almost no peculiar smell in the henhouse, and the fermentation generates heat, which evaporates the water in the chicken manure into the air, and the padding is basically kept dry.
The principle of raising chickens in dry-laid fermentation beds is basically the same as that of raising pigs in dry-laid fermentation beds. Gymboree koji and sawdust are evenly sprinkled in the shed with a total thickness of about 40cm. After the chickens enter the bed to pull feces and urine, the temperature of the celestial body will generally start to rise on the second day and the third day. After 3 ~ 7 days of activation and colonization, functional microorganisms will multiply geometrically (the theoretical number of reproduction can reach 272 in 24 hours). Using chicken manure and urine as nutrient sources, the temperature of the central fermentation layer can be controlled by gradually heating and fermenting the mixture of padding. After the lower fermentation is completed, sawdust and other padding materials will gradually turn black due to fermentation carbonization, and the fermented products can be used as fertilizer or roughage and can be taken out of the house in batches. If it is not used, it can be removed for a long time, and the filler will gradually decrease over time, so it should be replenished regularly.
However, due to the differences in the amount of feces, living habits and feeding management methods, the operation of raising chickens in dry-laid fermentation beds and raising pigs in fermentation beds is also different. Compared with raising pigs in a fermentation bed, the fermentation bed produces less chicken manure and less fermentation load. Moreover, chickens can't dig the padding, and the scratching of broilers on the padding is even less obvious. The average temperature of the broiler house is also higher than that of the pig house, and broilers basically don't eat padding, so the consumption of padding in the use process is very small. Therefore, chicken fermented mattress material is thinner than pig fermented mattress material.
Gymboree dry-laid fermented bed chicken raising technology was developed and popularized by Beijing Huaxia Kangyuan Technology Co., Ltd., which is the earliest dry-laid fermented bed chicken raising technology in China and the most mature one at present. The horizontal feeding of broilers is effective, clean, environmentally friendly, healthy, and grows smoothly, saving medicine and labor, saving coal, electricity and energy, and improving the quality of commercial chickens.
