What are the customs and habits of the Han people?

1, clothing

The Han people's clothing has changed a lot over the generations, to the end of the 1940s, men and women are mostly lapel or oblique lapel tops and pants, more light-colored clothes in the summer, and more black and blue clothes in winter.

2. Burial

Burial used to be a common practice in the past, but now cremation is common in big cities, and it is gradually being introduced in small and medium-sized cities and some rural areas.

3. Diet

The Han Chinese diet is based on rice and noodles, often eat vegetables, meat, fish and eggs, and pay attention to cooking techniques.

4. Marriage

The Han people practise monogamous marriage (see Monogamous Families), and family marriages are known for their firmness and stability. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the feudal patriarchal system was abolished and the status of women was raised so that they enjoyed equal rights with men.

5. Culture and Art

The Han people created a splendid culture and art with distinctive features in ancient times. Whether in politics, military, philosophy, economics, history, natural sciences, literature, art and other fields, they possessed many representative figures and works with far-reaching influence. In the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, the Chinese vassal states appeared a hundred schools of thought, the achievements of various schools of thought, and the largely contemporaneous ancient Greek civilization.

6. Language and writing

The language of the Han people, commonly known as Chinese, belongs to the Sino-Tibetan language family, and is one of the oldest and richest languages in the world. The main dialects are divided into seven major ones, namely, Northern dialect, Wu dialect, Xiang dialect, Gan dialect, Hakka dialect, Min dialect and Cantonese dialect. The modern Han ****similar language is based on the northern dialects, with Beijing phonetics as the standard sound.
