How to fold a handmade lotus flower

The steps are as follows:

Learn how to make a beautiful traditional origami lotus flower with these easy to follow step-by-step instructions. You can use this beautiful origami flower as a gift, add to a bouquet or on top of a box as a decoration.

This origami flower is one of my favorite crafts and you can also fold it with paper or fabric napkins.

I like to prepare several different sized squares of paper and then make them into different sized ruffles that can be nested into each other!

For this origami model, I recommend that you use the thinnest paper you can find.

First turn the paper face up!

1. Fold the paper diagonally to open it up.

2. We will fold the corners to the center.

3. Fold all the corners to the center.

4. For the second time, fold all the corners to the center.

5-7. Third time, fold all corners to the center.

8. Flip the paper to the back.

9. One last time, fold all corners to the center.

10.Take some time to smooth out the folds.

11. pinch on the corners.

12. Hold the pinched portion and pull the paper layer on the back.

13. Flip the paper over while still holding the pinch and pull the paper out gently but firmly, then move to the other side.

14.This is what you should have.

15.On the inside of the petal, flip the small triangle upwards.

16.Repeat the process at the other three corners.

17.Pull the next layer of petals to the front.

18.Carefully flatten them.

19. Open the lotus flower slightly.
