Description of lion dance action

Lion dance is one of the traditional folk art performances in China. Usually two people play a lion. The action of lion dance is described as follows:

First, two people stand together, one plays the lion's head and the other plays the lion's tail. The lion wears a headdress and holds two long sticks to control the lion's mouth and eyes. The lion's tail holds a long stick to control the lion's tail

Then, two people began to dance. First they paced slowly, and then they started jumping, spinning and swinging. These actions are all imitating the real lion behavior.

During the performance, the dancers will make the lion make various movements: squat, open his mouth, wag his tail, jump and so on. Among them, the most ornamental movements are "mountain climbing" and "swimming". In Climbing the Mountain, the dancer will make the lion imitate the posture of climbing a steep mountain; In "playing with water", lions will be made to imitate swimming and playing.
