What are the TCM types of diabetes?

Diabetes belongs to the diabetes of traditional Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine can be divided into several types according to different symptoms of patients and Chinese medicine theory.

Specifically divided into:

(1) Yangming's lung and stomach are full of heat, and both qi and yin are injured: dry mouth and throat, liking cold drinks, excessive thirst, relaxation after drinking, overeating, overeating, easy hunger, aversion to heat, sweating in the back, aversion to cold, or fever, yellow and red tongue coating, and heavy pulse.

(2) Stagnation of blood stasis and heat with both qi and yin injuries: excessive drinking, excessive eating and urination, dry stools, dark purple lips, dark red tongue, ecchymosis on the edge, purple sublingual collaterals, heavy and astringent pulse, etc.

(3) Syndrome of stagnation of gallbladder fire due to yang deficiency: bitter mouth, upset mood, poor mood, thirst and dry throat, little drinking water, sometimes nausea and anorexia, or insomnia, nervousness and anxiety, negativity, right abdominal pain, tingling, anxiety, abdominal pain or bloating, tinnitus or stuffy ears, red eyes and dizziness.

(4) Deficiency and cold syndrome of Taiyin Yangming: slight or no thirst in the mouth, bad appetite, easy vomiting after eating, no sour smell in vomit, or vomiting of clear water and phlegm, cold sweat in hands, feet and limbs, irregular stool, irregular dryness or fullness after initial hardness, or accompanied by epigastric pain, warm pressure, pale tongue with white fur and weak pulse.

(5) Yin-Yang deficiency syndrome and cold-dampness syndrome: frequent urination, excessive urine volume, frothy urine, cold limbs, cold hands and feet, mental fatigue, weakness of limbs, shortness of breath, laziness in speaking, soreness in waist and weakness in knees. Or accompanied by sexual apathy, joint pain, general pain, cold pain in the waist, knees, shoulders and back, pale tongue with white or white coating, teeth marks on the edge, and weak pulse.

(6) Yin deficiency: thirst and excessive drinking, insomnia and upset, soreness of waist and knees, forgetfulness, upset and fever, night sweats, dry throat and mouth, red tongue with little coating, and heavy pulse.

(7) Deficiency and cold syndrome of Jueyin Meridian: retching, vomiting, salivation, headache, frequent watery eyes, dull eyes, tears in the wind, aggravated coldness, or decreased vision, irregular menstruation or excessive leucorrhea in women, pruritus vulvae, testicular pain in men, or quadriplegia, cold syncope, pale tongue, white fur, and heavy or thin pulse. (8) Syndrome of mixed cold and heat in middle energizer: slight thirst, fullness in the epigastrium, painless fullness, anorexia, retching, belching, bowel sounds, diarrhea, pale tongue, greasy or yellowish fur, and rapid pulse.

(9) Syncope, yin cold and heat syndrome: thirst, heartache, fever in the heart, feeling hungry and unwilling to eat, vomiting, belching, bowel sounds, diarrhea, pale or dark red tongue with white fur.
