On Traditional Animation and FLASH Animation
Traditional animation is transplanted from the traditional production method of art animated films. It uses the principle of film, that is, the visual persistence phenomenon of human eyes, to shoot and edit the gradual still pictures which can clearly reflect a continuous dynamic process one by one by the camera, and then make them move on the screen by the TV playback system. Traditional animation has a series of production processes. First of all, it needs to design the key and turning point of each action in the animation shot, that is, it needs to draw the original picture first, then draw the middle picture according to the original picture, that is, animation, and then it needs to go through the process of drawing lines one by one, coloring one by one, shooting one by one and recording one by one. The biggest advantage of traditional animation is its strong expressive force. In the animation production of TV teaching materials, it is often used to express the dynamics of some objects, with soft texture, complex and irregular movements and shape changes.
The traditional cartoon is to draw a series of static but gradually changing pictures with strokes, shoot or scan them one by one with a camera, video camera or computer, and then show or play them continuously at the speed of 24 or 25 frames per second. At this time, the picture we draw is moving on the screen or on the screen, which is the traditional cartoon.
FLASH is a new thing that has only appeared in recent years. It is a multimedia animation software produced by American MACROMEDIA Company. It is an interactive animation design tool, which can easily integrate music, sound effects and animation to produce high-quality dynamic effects or animations.
FLASH animation is different from the GIF animation we used in the network before. It uses vector drawing technology. Vector diagram is a format diagram that can be infinitely enlarged without losing image quality. Because animation is composed of vector graphs, it greatly saves the size of animation files and improves the efficiency of network transmission under the condition of limited network bandwidth. It can be downloaded and watched conveniently. A Flash cartoon with a length of several minutes may be only 1 and 2mb in size. So once it was launched, it swept the online world.
Flash emphasizes interaction, that is, let the audience participate in animation to a certain extent, and you can interact with animation works to a certain extent. A simple example is: when animation goes somewhere, you can choose animation.
Talk about development again
When it comes to traditional animation, the average animator always draws pictures one by one and then takes pictures one by one. Their artistic attainments are all reflected in the paintings drawn one by one. However, there should be other forms of expression in comics besides this one-by-one painting. For example, put toys and puppets in front of the camera, move them every time you shoot a film, and then continue to shoot the next frame. This can be said to be a variation of comics, some of which are called puppet film. For example, people and scenery are cut out by China folk arts and crafts, then put in front of the camera, and then shot one by one, moving one by one. Some people call it a paper-cut cartoon, but it is actually a kind of cartoon.
Just moving the components in each frame of the FLASH file is not much different from the traditional paper-cut animation. Organize all the components with Flash's unique scripting language, and mobilize these well-organized component groups, thus showing the effect of cartoons. At this time, on the screen, it will be no different from the traditional paper-cut animation, but the work done behind the screen is very different.
At present, there are not many people who have experience in making traditional cartoons. Conversely, there are not many people who have experience in making traditional cartoons and using programming languages. They both seem to walk on one leg. People with traditional animation experience will definitely feel much more relaxed if they master the general two-dimensional image software operation. However, if people who are engaged in FLASH and have programming experience can use their own advantages to provide a large number of new animation technologies similar to templates for those traditional animators, then the combination of the two will definitely make the animation industry even more powerful.
MACROMEDIA is committed to publishing FLASH as a tool to assist in the animation of web pages, rather than developing it as a tool to make real cartoons. Perhaps it is for this reason that not many people who are engaged in FLASH are really committed to making cartoons. The function of FLASH itself needs a lot of improvement if it wants to make a big impact in the animation industry.
